Here is a presentation the NC Revenue Committee heard from the legislative counsel on the reason to tax Internet downloads - music, books, games & software. The draft legislative circulated at the January 27 meeting and refenced in my prior post was a little broader. Looks like earnings for the NC revenue department is missing estimates not just due to the recession - technology is also taking a bite out of taxes.
